Highlights of the Week ....
Tonight, we finished (almost) packing the car. Scott is leaving tomorrow for our trip. The kids and I will fly out Thursday morning unless Spencer talks him into taking him at the last minute. He is really jockeying for the front seat of this road trip with Dad! And it isn't like he is "persistent" about it .... moping .... looking sad .... telling Scott how "bad" he wants to go. Erica swears it is for the food and the hotel room bed to himself :) Nothing like having a sister promote your case for you!!
Anyway ... highlights in the last two days ..... Spencer and Jack were swimming yesterday. They were "trick sea otters" in the pool. This ended with Spencer jumping over Jack's shoulder and hitting his face on the bottom of the pool. He has a circle on his forehead and swelled his nose up again :( and left some scratches down the front. We know it hurt when he was crying and said "it hurts superdeeduperdee bad...." A little blood but he is better today. It's only a month after his surgery so we know it is still pretty tender. Trick sea otters probably wasn't the best idea ....
Tonight, we met some friends at Chik-fil-A .... Spencer and Jack were pulling eachother off the pole and being typical boys. It was fun until Spencer grabbed both of Jack's feet and pulled not thinking that Jack needed one of those legs to land on. So Jack landed on his face and busted his lip open and ended up with tiny little red blood circles on his chin and under his nose from the rubber flooring!!! I mean, seriously! Could we be under any more attack here right before this trip? Not to mention Erica and I spent the afternoon feeling sick to our stomachs and Spencer has spent the day with a stomach ache, headache and lay on the couch all morning. AAAAHHHH!!!!!! If we all arrive in Boston on Thursday, it will be a true miracle from the Lord!
I'll post a picture of the packed car before Scott leaves tomorrow. It is pretty insane to think of all the things you need for an extended trip ... I sure hope they have Walmarts up there!!!!
