Roasting in Acadia ... More Ways than One ..
We found these little animals to roast in Acadia but decided we couldn't build a fire large enough to cook them!!! We took a walk along Bear Lake (I think that was the name.) It was a really pretty area so we walked for quite a while before dinner. This was after our first argument on the trip ..... I would have liked to roast Scott over a large fire. It all started at Sand Beach where the kids were near the water. Scott said, "This is going to go bad." So, I being the black and white person that I can be at times said, "Ok kids let's go. Wrap it up and come on." Scott being the "gray" person that he lovingly does oh so well couldn't understand why I was upset at the kids when they didn't come after calling them 5 times. He wanted to let them stay and let them have some more fun. I was following his statement and trying to keep kids from getting wet and sandy and trashing the car. His comment wasn't meant to get us moving. But my mind reading skills are not up to par these days so this turned into an argument in the car of how we should and should not discipline, consistency, etc. which in turn had me crying and him frustrated. We get to Thunder Hole and finish our conversation in the car without kids. My parents took them down to the rocks. We finish -- we are both still somewhat irritated with one another and he gets out and I sat for a minute to get some composure. Scott locks the car, sets the alarm and walks away. There I am stuck in the car!! If I had opened it, the alarm would have gone off and the horn blaring. So I sit there and wait...and wait....and wait until they come back. In the end, after another 10 minutes of disagreeing and I communicate the issue, he then realizes he locked me in the car. And he LAUGHS! At this moment, that is not exactly the response I was looking for as most women would agree with me at this point!!! However, in his laughter and apology, it is stupid to stay mad for the rest of the day. He saw someone in a red shirt walking with a camera strap that really had pulled up next to us and he thought it was me going in a different direction. Men really don't pay all that much attention to details, now do they? We'll try to keep the future disagreements under control. My parents thought it was pretty funny that he locked me in the car as well. Needless to say, I have a new word for when I'm irritated ... he is now answering to Thunderhole!!!! LOL!!! Erica got pictures of Thunder Hole on her camera though ...
