The Lancaster Farmhouse

We made it to Amish country! What I big throw back this is!! I have been reading books by Beverly Lewis. She writes fictional stories about the Amish people. For me, this was amazing to read about their fictional lives and she does add truth about their culture. I found it very cool. Scott? Not so much .... we passed two buggies and he said, "Okay, I'm totally freaked out by this. I just don't get this at all." LOL!!!! I found it completely endearing ..... here are some of the pictures of the farmhouse. It was quaint and cute and HALF redone!!! They left off one bedroom which noone slept in and the kitchen was a "little" old. But overall, it's an OLD farmhouse!!! What can we expect??!!!! Scott is a feeling kind of guy though. If it feels weird to him, he has a hard time settling. So when we got in the house and he met the Mennonite older woman and found it her family lived in this house for 36 years and we explained several of the customs, it started to all make sense to him. If you haven't read any of her books, I love them and have gotten completely hooked!!! Okay, so Scott is reading as I'm blogging and he is laughing that I wrote there is a landing strip right next to the airport -- novel idea. What I meant was the landing strip runs right next to the interstate!!! LOL!!! I can't keep up with EVERYTHING!!!!!
