Strawberries Galore!

The kids and I went and picked strawberries two weeks ago one morning.  I know we picked four small baskets and they were the biggest strawberries ever!!  I can't believe how fast you can fill a basket.  We finished picking in about 30 minutes!  However, it took us about 3 hours to clean them all!!!  Erica was at a volleyball clinic so the boys were enlisted in helping slice and clean them.  They did so great!  They stayed for the whole process and we ended up with 13 qt bags of sliced, sugared strawberries, five big jars of freezer jam, and 5 bags of whole, clean strawberries!!  Needless to say, I really need a deep freeze!  And we have had strawberry shortcakes and smoothies almost every day!!  YUM!  I am thinking we may need to pick some more before they are all gone so I will have more for the summer!!   Jack is such a cutie in a chef hat!!  LOL!!
