Covered Bridges

They do really weird things to their moose here. It reminds me of what we do to our swans in Lakeland now that I think about it!! After our history tour and near death experiences (LOL!), we moved onto sight seeing. Let it be known that to get the picture of this covered bridge involved me going down a steep incline to the river, crossing several small rocks and crouching down. And let it be known that in the middle of crossing several small rocks, my foot slipped off one and went directly into the water and soaked my leather shoe and jeans. Not only was I crouching but I was dumping water out of my new leather shoes I just bought cursing at the same time while Scott was up on the hill with Erica's camera trying to take pictures of me .... all to get this picture so I hope you are enjoying that picture. I think you should scroll back up and look at it for a minute or two longer. It will make me feel like it was worth it.......go ahead ... don't be shy ......

Just to keep this story real, prior to this covered bridge experience, we had a family melt down. The pictures paint a wonderful little day trip with a happy family. But about an hour ago, it was not a happy family. We let the kids take their Nintendo DS games in case the ride just got to be too much for them. Well, it then turned in to "mine isn't charged. Why can't I borrow yours? Why can't I play the game?" and on and on and on until the melt down happened. We decided to let them in on the day. And it went something like this. "This day isn't just about you. In fact, let's get this straight. This trip isn't just about you. This is about me and your mom as well. And we have spent a lot of money to do this for our family and we are through with the ungratefulness in your hearts. So suck it up and realize it isn't about just you and you aren't going to be happy every minute of every day. Life isn't fair and it never will be........and my job isn't to "make you happy" every single minute of your life" and I'm sure you get my point ....... I am now realizing as I sit here with my fork and crow that it is a no wonder I am even alive. Seriously ... our parents didn't kill us growing up. I don't know how they did it .... well, they didn't do half the stupid, crazy and hairball things we try to do either which is probably why they did stay somewhat sane .... but still ...... you don't know whether to squeeze them till they can't breath or squeeze them because they are cute ....

Ok, I scrolled back up and looked at the pictures a long time. Can you email me the one with the water flowing under it? Or can I get a print when you get back? I love it!

You should take me next time and leave the kids home with someone. I'll be grateful and enjoy every minute of what you are doing!
