Spencer's New Smile!!

As you can see, Spencer finally lost his first tooth! He has been wiggling this for about three weeks now and trying to work it out. Last night, I got a hold of it and said let me just give it a quick pull and see. Sure enough, it came right out! He was so excited. As he went to bed, he asked me in his most serious look, "Mom, I need you to tell me the complete truth. Are you the tooth fairy?" I asked him back, "Do you want the truth really?" He said, "Yes. I do." I said, "You really want the truth?" He said, "I don't know. Do I want the truth?" I said, "Why don't you sleep on it and let me know in the morning if you still want the truth or if you want to keep believing in the tooth fairy. That night, I didn't give him any money under his pillow. I told him the tooth fairy must have been busy - don't forget Brantley lost his tooth the same day and it stormed last night. He remembered the loud clap of thunder in the middle of the night, too. And I was busy! The next night, I gave him money and sprinkled his pillow with confetti stars. Now I know some of you are sitting there saying what a liar and blah blah blah. I'm aware of all that - but you know what? They are going to get the hard truth in so much other stuff. I choose to let them believe in the fairy tale stuff just a little longer. They already know it anyway ............ The day I don't get to be the tooth fairy will be a sad day in our house ........ I'm going to sprinkle them with pixy dust and love as long as I can!!! :)

Erica's New Smile

Yep! Erica got braces! She looks absolutely adorable in them and looks all grown up! She got them about a month ago and brushing and flossing has taken on a new meaning in our home! It is hysterical and the first week was a learning curve for us but we figured it out. She will be in them for two years. After two weeks, I could already see the change and adjustments they were making to her teeth.

This is at Camp Gilead this year with her class! We had a ton of fun with science projects and her cabin made a boat out of cardboard in which two students from each cabin had to race on the lake. Erica and Beth were the smallest in the cabin so they floated in the lake and paddled for all they were worth. Does it help any to tell you that THEY WON the FIRST HEAT and then turned around in a wet boat and WON THE SECOND HEAT AGAINST THE FINALISTS AND THEIR PRINCIPAL????!!!!! It was hysterical to say the least! I told Erica, "see ... there are benefits to being the smallest!!!!" Go Girl Power!!!!

Time Will Fly

You ever take a picture and you look at it again and realize just how quickly time is going by right before your eyes? Erica is growing up way too fast for me. As quickly as her hormones, attitude and expressions are changing, so is my inability to keep up with it! And just now, Spencer came in with some pictures he found from when he was two and is laughing at how cute he was! I think I am going to cry! I just have to stop and look at these moments. I hope you will stop, too. I am amazed at what a blessing having a daughter has been. God is kind to allow moments of connection with her. Have a wonderful week :)
